Breed Barn Exhibit

Junior
Our Breed Exhibit showcases many different types of fiber producing animals, including sheep, goats, rabbits and maybe a llama or alpaca. Junior the camel visited us in 2011 and we hope to have him back in 2012. Educational displays explain the various types of fiber and how it can be used. Local farms have this opportunity to set up a farm display with products from their farms as well as exhibit their animals.

Juried Fleece Sale

Fleece Sale
Once again, SVFF offers more than just wool fleeces at our juried fleece sale. Choose your next project right from the beginning. This venue assures hand spinners and fiber hand crafters of good quality fiber properly classed. We are hoping to have a good selection of many types of natural animal fibers including wool, mohair, alpaca, llama and angora for a wide range of uses. Go to the Juried Fleece Sale page for more details or to find out how you can market your own fleeces.

Fleece to Scarf Competition & Auction

Scarf Scarf
The 3nd annual SVFF Fleece to Scarf Competition will be held Sunday, September 30, from 9:00AM to 11:30AM. Traditionally these types of competitions are titled Sheep to Shawl with teams comprised of a shearer, weaver, and 2-3 spinners. However, as autumn is not the normal time for shearing, we have condensed our contest to a shorn fleece which will be spun into yarn and woven into a scarf during the 2 1/2 hours. The teams are composed of a weaver and two spinners. The finished scarves will be auctioned off to the public immediately after the contest. Visit the Fleece to Scarf page for more details and learn how your team can enter!
